Leather Care
We're a little bit excited about some new dust bags for our Paper Windmill leather goods. Your next bag or wallet will now come in a cotton bag that you can use to store your leather bag in when you're not using it. Keeping the dust off your leather goods (shoes included) will prolong the life of the leather.
All our products are made from the highest quality materials. Please take care of your product by following these few basic guidelines.
Clean your leather handbags frequently and with a proper leather cleaner. Use a soft cloth or microfibre cloth to clean off dirt every couple of weeks. Moisturising the leather with a proper leather cleaner will prolong the life of your bag.
When storing your bag, make sure you stuff it (using tissue paper, bubble wrap or similar). This prevents creasing in the leather and allows the bag to hold it’s shape. Store you leather bag in a dust bag to prevent scratching and dust.
If your leather bag gets very wet, make sure you dry it out throughly and clean and moisturise it before packing it away.
Avoid harsh chemicals because they are subject to damaging the product.
More often than not, we don't have that 10 minutes to clean a bag before we shove it in the cupboard, but it's a good habit to get into and whilst you're spring cleaning your wardrobe, maybe ive your leather goods a little TLC as well.
We *heart* books
Books are a huge part of our life. You will find piles everywhere and shelves filled to the brim in this house! My husband can't understand my need to buy more and more and more!! But luckily, my love of books has been passed on to my children who love to read.
Cook books are also piled high, but as I admit to everyone, I am no cook. I do love to sit and flick through them though, and that's what this pile is for. Today I am looking to shake up the meals I'm dishing up week & in week out. It's just all getting a little boring at our dinner table at the moment.
These are a few of my favourites right now;
Notes from my Kitchen Table by Gwyneth Paltrow. I also love reading the recipes (as well as other bits and pieces) on her website Goop. Healthy and delicious, they are worth having a look at.
FOOD by Mary McCartney. Of course, the photographs in this are beautiful and 90% of the reason I bought it! Luckily it also has some really yummy vegetarian meals in it.
Recipes and stories from a hungry cook by Marion Grasby. It's time I stretched my asian cooking skills a little, and I find the recipes in the book are 'doable'.
The Urban Cook by Mark Jensen. This one requires a little reading, but if you're interested in sustainable food, this is really good.
So I'm going to enjoy a little time in the sun today reading and dreaming. Happy Saturday!

Duepunti Diamond Rings now at paperwindmill.com.au
We're pretty excited here in the office to have these new diamond rings in our hands! Straight from Milan, these are so much fun with added sparkle!!
This Italian jewellery line was created by the son of a recognized Milanese diamond dealer. The silicone rings come in a rainbow assortment of delicious vibrant colours, and a mounting method ensures that the .02 carat diamond stays safe and sound in the ring.
At the moment we only have the rings available in Australia and the bangles are on their way from Italy. They really do look their best stacked two or three. Time to add them to your Christmas wish list that's for sure!!

Fashion isn't just for us
Here at Paper Windmill, we have a resident sausage dog. He's one of those with attitude. And if you know sausage dogs, they have attitude like you have never seen before!!
I don't have one decent photo of him, because being black, he doesn't really photograph well. And having such attitude means he's not so social when it comes to going to the doggy park (so he doesn't get out much).
But if you love a sausage dog, you'd love Milo. He has great poise and would have been good in competitions (but there was no way we were venturing there!).
So when we stumbled upon Best in Park, I sort of knew this was his kinda thing ;) This is for all those dogs out there who are rather distinguished...and is sure to make you smile!
And, I just have to say... I love the photography!
Really...how cute are those collars - and the bow tie!!

It's almost the weekend...
... and we can feel a touch of Spring in the air! The mornings are just that little bit lighter, the days a little bit warmer, and the shops are full of bright colours. We're working on some new jewellery and bag designs and already having to think about Winter 2013. But oh so looking forward to some warm summer days first.
Enjoy your weekend!!

Sydney Biennale
Sometimes a day spend being a tourist in your own city is just what the soul needs. The 18th Sydney Biennale is on at the moment and last week we took a visit to Cockatoo Island. I'm embarrassed to say I had never been here before, but on the other hand, happy to say I will be making many more visits.
It's former life as a goal, ship yard and dock is currently the back drop for some amazing art installations - most of which we didn't even have time to see! Colourful, throught provoking and amazing, you really need to make a few trips to see this part of the Biennale.
Of course, amongst all this art, when I asked my boys what was their favourite thing, they said 'the cranes'! Boys will be boys ;)
